Eastern Blue Bird

Eastern Blue Birds stand out in the colorless winter months. The male is a spectacular blue while the female is muted, although in flight, more of her blue coloring is visible than when she is stationary.

The Codorus State Park in South Central PA where these photos were taken today has plentiful nesting boxes. Blue birds remain here year round.  The once dwindling number of blue birds is now thriving.

The Little Red Messenger

The male Northern Cardinal. Some believe that they act as messengers.

Could he be a messenger from a loved one who is watching from heaven, a messenger of good fortune that is soon to come,
or a message of hope?

The message may mean something different to each of us.
I, for one, smile and think of my dad.

Dear little redbird ... thank you for visiting and the reminder of a man with a bright mind, quick humor and beautiful, twinkly blue eyes.

Misty Morning Sunrise & Peace Talks

Through the early morning mist, the sound of eagles calling to one another could be heard. The sun began to makes it claim on the day.

This capture reminds me of two high level officials in peace talks while the security detail surrounds them.

Winter Wonderland

Oh the weather outside is NOT frightful, it's really quite delightful. I do however miss seeing scenes like this one.  Snow has a way of covering the dull brown feel of winter making the landscape around us look crisp and fresh.  When the snow is heavy and wet, the trees come alive again.  It become a winter wonderland.
